Acute Leukemia: it is possible that completely cured through Chemotherapy, bone marrow transplant.
What is Acute Leukemia?
Leukocyte changes to the malignant cells and propagate in the bone marrow. After then, it is spread on
the whole body through the blood.
Symptom
1.The Bleeding did not stop.
2. Nosebleed or menstruation does not stop.
3. Heat, bruising, anemia that lasts for more than two weeks.
Stage
1
Chemotherapy: after hospitalization, use drugs to lower numbers
of white blood cells during one week.
After 2 weeks, patient undergo the bone marrow test for confirm disappearance
of Leukemia cells. And then after 2~3weeks, patient has to undergo the bone
marrow test.
Stage 2
complete remission
Reduced to less
than 5% of leukemia
cells and rate of white blood cell and
platelet return to normal, doctor recognizes that leukemia
symptoms is disappeared. However, due to risk of recurrence, patient should undergo complete
medical
checkup.
Stage 3
After “Treatment to eliminate cancer cells that may remain” repeated twice,
patient receives bone
marrow transplant. In recent year, even if only 50% of HLA (human leukocyte antigen)matching rate can be implemented
the bone marrow transplant.
